Teacher Babe-on-a-Budget Drugstore Makeup Must-Haves

There is something about walking into the makeup section of my local drugstore that gets me really hyped. The colors… the enormous amount of product… the PRICES! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good high-end makeup product once in a while (I have an obsession with Sephora), but living in New York City on a teacher’s salary which I’m constantly spending on trying to improve my classroom has compelled me to become an expert at finding awesome products for awesome prices. Therefore, drugstore makeup is something I’m pretty familiar with because I enjoy wearing makeup, and I also enjoy not going broke. If you feel the same way, check out what I brought home from my last drugstore makeup haul for less than $55…

e.l.f. Poreless Face Primer – This is always the first thing I put on my face when I do my makeup. Everything goes on way smoother. Price: $6.00

Maybelline FIT me! Dewy & Smooth Foundation w/ SPF 15 in Natural Beige – I love this foundation because a little goes a long way, AND it has SPF to protect from sun damage! Price: $6.29

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer – This stuff hides my dark circles like a champ. Price: $5.99

e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pears – This stuff is amazing when I need a little extra somethin’ somethin’ because I didn’t sleep well or just look plain dead. I keep this in my bag to save myself when I look in the mirror mid-day and think “Wow, I might scare the children.” A little bit right above your cheekbones and you’re good to go! Price: $4.00

Kokie Line & Style Longwear Matte Liquid Eyeliner – This stuff is a lifesaver because I have a bad habit of touching my face, and it somehow stays intact when I aggressively rub my eye because there are pencil sharpening shavings flying in the air. Price: $8.49

CoverGirl Peacock Flare Mascara – This mascara lasts longer than other drugstore mascaras that I’ve tried which is why I love it so much because I don’t need to buy it as often- hello extra savings! Price: $7.99

Kokie Refresh Hydrating Setting Spray – Like I said, I have an awful habit of touching my face, so this stuff helps a ton. I spray it on right after I’ve finished doing my makeup. It’s especially helpful for those extra long days when I go straight from school to tutoring and don’t get home until it’s time for bed. Price: $7.49

What are your drugstore makeup go-tos?! I’m always looking for new stuff to try.
